Sal-3™ blend

Salicylic Acid

• An important kind of beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) from willow bark, with soothing, anti-irritation and mild exfoliating effects to help with skin renewal
• Used for decades in acne washes and is reported to reduce comedones (blocked pores) (Shalita, 1989)

Salvia officinalis (Sage) Oil

• Has disinfectant effects, and has been shown to control P. acnes, one of the bacteria that causes acne (Weckesser, 2007)

Rosemary Oil

• Works together with sage and MBc Herbal Honey to control germs (Weckesser, 2007) and reduces the effects of inflammatory acne (Tsai, 2013)

Zinc PCA

• Zinc has anti-bacterial and collagen boosting effects, and normalizes sebum production
• Zinc PCA has been shown to alleviate acne sores (Sitohang, 2020)

Oat Oil

• Prevents irritation, itching and irritation
• Has been found to decrease dryness, prevent moisture loss and elevate skin ceramides (Vaughn, 2018)

MBc Herbal Honey

• Our own naturally soothing, botanical honey has soothing properties, and a proven antimicrobial profile

Wet face with lukewarm water and use fingertips to apply 1-2 pumps. Gently massage into face and neck. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel. Follow use with skincare routine. Some skin types may experience mild tingling. You may use every other day until your skin adjusts.

1 Why is the pH of this product slightly lower than others?

The slightly lower pH is designed to assist the action of salicylic acid in helping soothe and resurface the skin. The pH is still within the range of tolerance of skin, so it is still safe for daily use to remove stubborn dead skin cells, lower excess oils and manage whiteheads and blackheads.

2 How does salicylic acid work and do I need to include it in my routine?

An important role of salicylic acid in the product is to gently remove dead cells from the pores and surface layers. It also soothes irritated and inflamed skin, and controls sebum production. It is a highly recommended ingredient in skin routines to control issues like open or closed pimples, excess oiliness and roughness.
